AILERNOVA — AI-Powered CBSE Learning Platform

Effective Date: March 10, 2026

AILERNOVA Education Private Limited (“AILERNOVA”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is fully committed to protecting the privacy, security, and personal information of all users who access our Platform at AILERNOVA.com. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains in detail how we collect, use, store, share, protect, and handle your personal information when you use our Services.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS: Our Platform serves students from Grade 3 onwards — children as young as 8 years of age. Because of this, child privacy and data protection are of critical, non-negotiable importance to us. We urge all parents and guardians to read this Privacy Policy carefully, as it describes how we collect and handle data belonging to your child. Your child’s use of our Platform is conditional on your review and acceptance of this Policy.

By accessing or using the Platform, you (or as a parent/guardian, on behalf of your child) consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, please discontinue use of our Platform immediately.

1. Information We Collect

We collect different types of information depending on how the Platform is accessed and used. All data collection is done in a minimal, purposeful, and lawful manner.

1.1 Personal Information Provided by You

When you (or a parent/guardian) create an account, enrol for a subscription, or otherwise interact with our Platform, we may collect the following personal information:

  • Student’s full name, date of birth, and current school grade (Grade 3 and above).
  • Parent’s or guardian’s full name, email address, and mobile phone number (mandatory for all student accounts, as all student users are minors).
  • Name and location of the student’s school or educational institution (optional).
  • Residential city and state (for regional content customisation and compliance purposes).
  • A secure password for account access.
  • Payment and billing information (for subscription purchases), including name on card, billing address, and masked card details — processed securely via authorised third-party payment gateways. AILERNOVA does not store raw card data on its servers.
  • Profile photograph (optional, if uploaded by the user or parent).

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use our Platform, we automatically collect certain technical and usage data, including:

  • Device information: type of device (smartphone, tablet, computer), operating system, browser type and version, screen resolution, and unique device identifiers.
  • Network information: IP address, internet service provider (ISP), and approximate geographic location derived from IP address.
  • Usage data: pages and sections of the Platform visited, video lessons watched, duration of viewing, quizzes attempted, scores achieved, frequency of access, and overall engagement patterns.
  • Log data: server access logs, error logs, timestamps of activities, and session data.
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies: details described in Section 8 below.

1.3 AI Interaction and Learning Data

As our Platform is powered by artificial intelligence, we collect data generated during your interaction with AI-driven features, including:

  • Learning session data, including which videos were viewed, paused, rewound, or skipped.
  • Quiz responses, answers selected, time taken per question, and assessment performance history.
  • Personalization data used to generate AI-driven learning recommendations tailored to the student’s progress.
  • Feedback and ratings provided by users on content quality.
  • Error or difficulty signals (e.g., repeated attempts on a concept) that help our AI adapt content recommendations.

1.4 Information from Parents and Guardians

We collect specific information from parents and guardians for the purpose of managing student accounts, providing progress reports, and ensuring the safety of minor users, including:

  • Parent’s or guardian’s name, email address, and phone number.
  • Parental consent records and timestamps.
  • Communication history with AILERNOVA support.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect strictly for the purposes outlined below. We do not use your data for any purpose inconsistent with this Privacy Policy.

  • Granting access to AI-generated CBSE-aligned video content and Life Skills programs appropriate to the student’s grade level.
  • Delivering interactive assessments, quizzes, and progress reports.
  • Processing subscription payments and managing billing.

2.2 To Personalise the Learning Experience

  • Using AI algorithms to analyse learning patterns, quiz performance, and engagement data to recommend personalised learning paths for each student.
  • Curating content recommendations based on the student’s grade, subject preferences, and performance trends.
  • Adapting content difficulty and sequencing to support the student’s individual learning pace.

2.3 To Communicate With You

  • Sending transactional communications: account registration confirmations, password resets, subscription renewals, billing receipts.
  • Sending academic progress reports and learning milestone updates to parents and guardians.
  • Sending platform updates, new feature announcements, and content additions.
  • Sending promotional communications (only with explicit consent from the parent or guardian, and with the option to unsubscribe at any time).

2.4 To Ensure Platform Safety and Security

  • Conducting internal research and quality assurance activities to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of our educational content.

2.6 To Comply with Legal Obligations

  • Maintaining records as required under applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, and associated rules.
  • Responding to lawful government requests, court orders, or regulatory requirements.
  • Enforcing our Terms & Conditions and protecting the rights and safety of AILERNOVA, its users, and the public.

3. Children’s Privacy — Special Protections

Given that our Platform is designed to serve students from Grade 3 onwards — children as young as 8 years of age — we have implemented strict, comprehensive measures to protect the privacy of our youngest users. These protections go above and beyond standard data privacy practices.

3.1 Mandatory Parental Consent

  • All student accounts for users under the age of 18 require the explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian before account creation and use of the Platform.
  • Parental consent is obtained through a verified consent process during registration, and records of consent are maintained securely.
  • If we become aware that a minor has registered without verifiable parental consent, we will immediately suspend the account and take steps to delete the associated data.

3.2 Minimum Data Collection for Children

  • We collect only the minimum personal data necessary to provide educational services to student users.
  • We do not collect sensitive personal information (such as Aadhaar number, financial details, or medical information) from student users directly.
  • Profile photographs are optional and not required for platform use.

3.3 No Advertising or Profiling of Children

  • AILERNOVA does not display third-party advertisements to student users.
  • We do not sell, share, or use children’s personal data for behavioural advertising or commercial profiling purposes.
  • Children’s data is used solely for the purpose of providing and improving the educational services they are enrolled in.

3.4 No Public Profile or Social Features for Children

  • Student users do not have publicly visible profiles on our Platform.
  • We do not facilitate unmoderated social interaction, direct messaging, or peer-to-peer communication between students on the Platform.
  • Any community or collaborative features, if introduced in the future, will be strictly moderated and gated behind additional parental consent.

3.5 Parental Access and Control

  • Parents and guardians have the right to access all personal data we hold about their child at any time by contacting us at admin@ailernova.com.
  • Parents and guardians may request correction of any inaccurate information held about their child.
  • Parents and guardians may request deletion of their child’s account and all associated data at any time.
  • We will respond to all verifiable parental requests within 15 working days.

3.6 Age Verification

While we take reasonable steps to verify the age of users during registration, we rely on parents and guardians to ensure that children below the minimum grade level (Grade 3 / approximately age 8) do not use the Platform. If you believe a child below this threshold is using our Platform, please contact us immediately.

4. Sharing of Information

AILERNOVA does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for commercial purposes. We share your data only in the following limited and lawful circumstances:

4.1 Authorised Service Providers

We may share your data with carefully selected third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, including:

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers (to store and deliver Platform data securely).
  • Payment gateway providers (to process subscription payments securely).
  • Email and SMS communication service providers (to send transactional and progress notifications).
  • Analytics providers (to analyse aggregated, anonymised usage data for Platform improvement).

All service providers are contractually required to handle data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws. They are not permitted to use your data for any purpose other than providing services to AILERNOVA.

4.2 Educational Institutions

With explicit written consent from a parent or guardian, we may share a student’s learning progress, performance reports, and usage statistics with the student’s registered school or educational institution for educational monitoring purposes.

4.3 Legal and Regulatory Authorities

We may disclose personal information to government authorities, law enforcement agencies, or courts when required to do so by applicable law, valid legal process, court orders, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of AILERNOVA or its users.

4.4 Business Transfers

In the event that AILERNOVA undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred to the successor entity. We will notify you via email and/or a Platform notice of any such change and the resulting implications for your data, and you will have the opportunity to delete your account if you do not agree.

4.5 Aggregated and Anonymised Data

We may share aggregated, anonymised, and de-identified data — which cannot be used to identify any individual — with research institutions, educational bodies, or the public for educational research and improvement purposes.

5. Data Retention

5.1 Retention Period

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide you with our Services. Specific retention periods are as follows:

  • Account Data: Retained for the duration of the active account, and for a period of 2 years following account deletion, unless a longer period is required by law.
  • Learning and Assessment Data: Retained for 1 year after the last active session, after which it is anonymised or deleted.
  • Payment Records: Retained for 7 years as required under applicable Indian financial and tax regulations.
  • Communications and Correspondence: Retained for 3 years from the date of the last communication.
  • Parental Consent Records: Retained for as long as the associated minor account is active, plus 3 years thereafter.

5.2 Account Deletion

Upon account deletion at the user’s (or parent’s) request, we will delete or irreversibly anonymise all personal data within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations requiring retention.

6. Data Security

We take the security of your personal data — especially children’s data — very seriously. We implement the following technical and organisational measures to protect your information:

  • SSL/TLS Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols.
  • Encrypted Data Storage: Personal data is stored on secure, encrypted servers hosted by reputable cloud infrastructure providers.
  • Access Controls: Access to personal data is strictly limited to authorised AILERNOVA personnel on a need-to-know basis. All staff with data access undergo background checks and privacy training.
  • Regular Security Audits: We conduct periodic security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans to identify and remediate potential weaknesses.
  • Incident Response: We maintain a documented data breach response plan. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant regulatory authorities in accordance with applicable law.
  • Payment Security: All payment transactions are processed through PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways. Raw card data is never stored on AILERNOVA’s servers.

While we implement all reasonable and industry-standard security measures, no digital system can be guaranteed 100% secure. We encourage users to use strong, unique passwords and to keep their login credentials confidential.
